Police investigating antisemitic graffiti in Greenwich
GREENWICH, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New York State Police are investigating after several swastikas were reportedly found in Greenwich. Police opened the investigation on December 29 after it was reported a swastika had been painted on the Big Lots store on Route 29.
State Police said the graffiti was first found by store employees on December 19 but had not been reported to law enforcement. However, police said the employees have been interviewed and are cooperating with investigators.
During the investigation, police said two more swastikas were found spray-painted near the store on the sidewalk along Route 29. Two red lines were also painted on the top of the guide rail.
At Route 29 and Meader Road, police said an X was found spray painted on a Greenwich Fire Department sign. Police said all the graffiti incidents are currently under investigation.
