I got pregnant at 14 with my boyfriend of the same age – judgemental friends disowned us but we love being teen parents
WHEN you think of a 14-year-old girl, you imagine them playing dress up in their room or hanging out with friends, not getting pregnant.
But Nicole who met her boyfriend Anthony at the age of 13 ended up being pregnant and becoming a teen mum.
Nicole revealed what it’s really like becoming a mum at 15[/caption] The pair are still at school while looking after their daughter[/caption]Now the pair have revealed just how difficult it was to become teen parents as friends disowned them.
Speaking to Truly, Nicole said: “I felt very isolated like I had nobody.
“I told my sister, she looked at me in my eyes and she said, are you f***ing kidding me? My body like, it dropped.”
The mum-of-one, now 17, revealed when she told friends about her pregnancy, many of them were ‘judgemental’ and ditched her.
While the pair are still together, they currently don’t live together meaning Anthony comes to see Nicole and their daughter, Mina, every day.
Nicole recalled the exact day she realised she was pregnant after picking a test up from a shop after school.
She recalleD: “I found out I was pregnant on May 9 2022, and I actually pretended to call my sister on the phone.
“And I was like, ‘oh’, is this a pregnancy test?’ Because they’re probably like, why is this little girl buying a pregnancy test? And I had my school backpack on, so people were looking at me.
“My stomach dropped, like if I was on a roller coaster and I was so scared.”
Anthony’s mum was left shocked when he told her the news and didn’t speak to him for days before coming round to the idea.
When Mina came into the world, the pair were both at school and Nicole is continuing to study though she finds it hard to juggle both.
“It’s really hard doing school with her. Especially if she’s home with me by myself. Because Mina, she constantly is doing something,” she added.
“She likes to use my keyboard., And it’s hard to do my schoolwork because when I’m using it, she wants to play with it. And I’m just like, you can’t play with it.”
Friends of theirs were supportive at first, but when the parents left school to look after Mina, they stopped reaching out.
