Colman Domingo joins Glen Powell in Edgar Wright’s ‘The Running Man’ movie
Colman Domingo is about to host the world’s most dangerous game show. The Sing Sing actor and Oscar contender has been cast to star opposite Glen Powell in Paramount’s Running Man movie, our sister site Deadline reports. The dystopian action flick is being produced and directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Baby Driver) and is based on Stephen King‘s 1982 novel of the same name, which he wrote under his pseudonym Richard Bachman. Other cast members include Josh Brolin, Michael Cera, Daniel Ezra, Emilia Jones, William H. Macy, Katy O’Brian, and Lee Pace. The Running Man is scheduled for a theatrical release in Nov. 2025.
The book was initially adapted for the big screen in 1987, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as the titular character, which Powell takes on in the new movie. Set in 2025, a game show called The Running Man had people chased by murderous Hunters to win money. Domingo will reimagine the role of the game show host, initially played by the late Richard Dawson.
