Macy's to close multiple stores in 2025
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Macy's Inc. is proceeding with planned store closures as part of the Bold New Chapter strategy aimed at restoring sustainable, profitable sales growth.
The company confirmed that 66 stores will close, including several locations across New York City and surrounding regions.
“Closing any store is never easy, but as part of our Bold New Chapter strategy, we are closing underproductive Macy’s stores to allow us to focus our resources and prioritize investments in our go-forward stores, where customers are already responding positively to better product offerings and elevated service,” said Tony Spring, chairman and chief executive officer of Macy’s, Inc.
The majority of the stores included in the announcement are expected to close in the first quarter of 2025.
Here are the stores closing in the New York City area:
- Brooklyn
- Fordham Place
- Queens Place
- Sheepshead Bay
- Sunrise Mall
- Staten Island Furniture
Going out-of-business sales are expected to happen at Fordham Place, Sheepshead Bay, and Staten Island Furniture.
