Lawmakers call for commercial, residential space in rebuilt Harriman campus
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Some local lawmakers are turning their attention to the future of the Wadsworth Laboratory in Albany. The state plans to build a new lab on the campus of the Harriman State Office Campus.
Some lawmakers who represent the city are introducing a bill that would require the state to designate part of the campus for residential or commercial development. They said it would better connect the campus to the community and support the local economy.
More than $900 million was set aside in last year's state budget for the lab construction.
