Siena basketball teams to host two food drives
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Men's and Women's Basketball programs at Siena College are partnering with the Regional Food Bank in efforts to fight against food insecurity. They will hold food drives at two different basketball games.
The first game will be the Siena men's team against Sacred Heart at MVP Arena on January 16 at 7 p.m. The second will be the Siena women's team against Merrimack at UHY Center on the Loudonville campus on January 18 at 2 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged to donate five canned goods to the food bank; cash donations are also welcome. Fans who donate will receive a voucher for $5 off of a future ticket to a Siena men's or women's regular season home game for this school year while supplies last.
The food bank would like to collect healthy items like soup, cereal, oatmeal, and juice. It will also accept personal hygiene products like shampoo, soap, deodorant, and toilet paper. These will all be collected during the start of the second half of each game in the lobby of each building.
