The Lowdown
We come into this game as the most in-form team in the Scottish Premiership having collected 14 points from our last six league outings.
In our last match, David Gray’s side showed great character and determination to come from behind twice against Rangers to earn a well-deserved point. Martin Boyle bagged a brace in that one, before a Rocky Bushiri header made it 3-3 at Easter Road.
After picking up that point, we currently sit seventh in the William Hill Premiership table with 26 points from 22 games. We’re one point behind St Mirren in sixth, and eight behind Dundee United in third.
Also, in the build-up to today’s game, Nicky Cadden was named the William Hill Premiership Player of the Month for December 2024. The left-sided midfielder has eight goal contributions in our last 11 matches.
Team News
David Gray was without Elie Youan, Joe Newell, Marvin Ekpiteta, Kieron Bowie and Mykola Kuharevich for our game against Rangers last weekend.
Our Head Coach will provide an update on them in our press conference on Friday ahead of the Motherwell match.
The Visitors
Motherwell come into this weekend’s game off the back of a 0-0 draw with Kilmarnock at Rugby Park yesterday (Wednesday 8 January, 2025).
The Well have had a fairly mixed Christmas/New Year period only winning once – a 2-0 win at home over Aberdeen – since the 20th of December. In that period of six games, though, they have actually only lost twice, drawing the other three.
Over the course of the current campaign, Stuart Kettlewell’s side have been one of the best performers on their travels. They’re currently third in the ‘away’ table, only behind Celtic and Dundee United. They have 13 points on their travels, winning four out of a possible 11 games on the road to date.
