EXCLUSIVE: Stuart Weitzman Makes $50,000 Donation to Christy Turlington Burn’s Every Mother Counts Non-Profit
Stuart Weitzman is showing support for mothers. In continuation of its “How Lovely to Be a Woman” campaign, the luxury footwear brand has made a $50,000 donation to Every Mother Counts, a maternal health non-profit founded by supermodel and Stuart Weitzman global ambassador Christy Turlington Burns.
The non-profit, which was inspired by Turlington Burns’ birth experience, is described as “dedicated to ensuring that the maternal health journey before, during and after childbirth is safe, respectful and equitable for everyone, everywhere.”
Stuart Weitzman’s “How Lovely to Be a Woman” campaign was announced in August 2024 and included a campaign film released in September. In addition to Turlington Burns, the campaign features Aly Raisman, Issa Rae, Lucy Liu and Ming Xi, who also serve as Stuart Weitzman global ambassadors. Per the brand, “Each multihyphenate woman was specially selected for her personal inspiring stories of stepping into her confidence and standing strong.”
Stuart Weitzman highlights Turlington Burns’ nonprofit work in the campaign, giving her the moniker “The Model Maternal Health Activist,” while the four other women were given different titles to reflect their unique talents and contributions.
Turlington Burns offered an exclusive comment to FN on the company’s contribution to her non-profit, saying, “There are many ways that brands can spend their dollars these days, so I am grateful Stuart Weitzman is supporting Every Mother Counts and that they care about a cause that’s so important to me and to women around the world.”
In an official press release revealing the brand’s donation, Turling Burns said, “I’m very grateful for Stuart Weitzman’s support of Every Mother Counts and their help to raise awareness about maternal health. Both Stuart Weitzman and Every Mother Counts are united in a shared goal of supporting women by sharing their stories of others, and the ‘How Lovely to Be a Woman’ campaign celebrates that.”
Kaisy Mae O’Reilly, SVP, chief marketing officer at Stuart Weitzman, also made a statement: “Whether creating shoes that inspire women with confidence or celebrating what it means to be a woman today, everything we do here at Stuart Weitzman is driven by our goal of engaging our customers and bringing positive impact to their lives. After all, more than ever, this is truly an important time for women to stand strong, to be supported and empowered, and to have access to resources about fundamental matters like maternal health.”
