Kenton neighborhood shelter-in-place lifted, suspect not found
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A shelter-in-place for North Portland's Kenton neighborhood was lifted after police came up empty-handed in their search for an armed robbery suspect.
According to Portland police, officers responded to a robbery report at a bar on North Lombard Street where a suspect with a rifle had fired a shot.
Officers said they learned that the suspect had fled the scene on foot and someone was spotted a short while later near North Terry Street and North Denver Avenue before fleeing into a nearby yard.
A shelter-in-place was ordered around 3:00 a.m. while police working with K9s and drones searched for the suspect, but just before 8:00 a.m., the order was lifted with no suspect found.
Police said they are still investigating the robbery and anyone with information is asked to contact police.
