Record snowfall on the way Thursday
Oklahoma City's record snowfall for January 9th is 2.0". There is a good chance we break it today.
Bands of snow will continue moving north from mid morning through the afternoon and evening hours Thursday. This will be a long duration, but relatively light snow event. There will be some times of moderate snow, especially in the afternoon.
Thankfully, this will be a snow event with ice and sleet chances very low. Conditions will be slick by the afternoon and evening on untreated roads.
By the time the system is moving to the east, snow will gradually wind down overnight into Friday morning with some blowing and drifting from northwest winds. Here's the latest forecast snow totals:
Stay safe!
