Basketball star suspended after smuggling his girlfriend into hotel room in his SUITCASE before game
A CHINESE basketball player has been slapped with a suspension for sensationally smuggling his girlfriend into his hotel room.
And he reportedly went to extreme measures to do so.
It’s claimed Guangzhou Loong Lions ace Zhang Xingliang was desperate to spend the night with his other half before his side’s recent match against Qingdao that he snuck her into his hotel room in a SUITCASE.
But it wasn’t so that they could spend a passionate night together.
Xingliang is said to have smuggled his girlfriend into the room so that he could help her with her HOMEWORK.
His girlfriend stunningly shared photos of herself in the hotel room, including one of her squeezing herself into a small black suitcase, on social media.
She quickly deleted the snaps from Weibo – China’s version of X – but the damage was already done.
Xingliang has been suspended with immediate effect and his future with the team is now in major doubt.
A club statement read: “Recently, Zhang Xingliang, a player of the Guangzhou Loong Lions Basketball Club, has attracted the attention of fans and friends due to his inappropriate handling of personal matters.
“After consultation with the club’s management and coaching staff, it was decided that player Zhang Xingliang will be banned from participating in the club’s first team matches with immediate effect.

“Due to the objective fact that he has violated the relevant management rules of the club’s first team.”
Zhang is said to have apologised profusely for his breaking of the club’s strict rules.
It’s claimed he’s realised he must set higher standards for himself.
His banishment from the team will no doubt teach him a valuable lesson about violating team rules.
Hopefully that will be case closed.
