_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A winter storm will affect the South Central states today.
Snow is forecast to expand from eastern New Mexico through
the Texas Panhandle and into Oklahoma. A corridor of snow,
sleet and rain may occur just north of Austin, Texas, to
Dallas, southern Arkansas and northern Louisiana. There may
also be a small window where freezing rain can occur,
leading to dangerous travel on untreated roads. A little
snow can also fall from the Front Range of Colorado into the
northern and central Great Plains. Plain rain is expected
along the Texas and Louisiana coasts. Otherwise, much of the
rest of country will be dry with the exception of some
lake-effect snow lingering in upstate New York and
northwestern Pennsylvania. The risk of fast-moving,
wind-driven infernos will continue in Southern California.
