Scrappy but do-able in Sydney but zippo in Adelaide
Hello Friends,
Been rather remiss on the postcarding front, sorry. Got to see the ocean for the first time in a week and can report that Spencer Gulf is being well sheltered from any southern ocean swell by Kangaroo Island.
Meanwhile, from the look of the cams in Sydney it does appear that there are a messy but sort of rideable lumps and bumps thanks to a 2.2 metre, 7-second E-SE wind swell. Not the best quality, but have a look at what your SA cousins are dealing with.
Looking ahead, I’m not seeing much in the way of a significant improvement for Sydney surfers across the coming week. More short-period little wind swell energy basically.
For what it’s worth, the GFS model was showing a potentially significant swell event for this time next week. If the predictions turn out to be correct, we could be seeing 3+ metre wave faces at south magnets…
Have a good one!
Weather Situation
A low pressure system off the Mid North Coast will linger and gradually weaken over the next few days, with east to southeasterly winds expected to the south of the system. A high pressure system drifting over the southern Tasman Sea from late Thursday will gradually extend a ridge along the NSW coast over the coming days, with winds shifting northeasterly from late Thursday and through the weekend.
