EXCLUSIVE: Gola Classics to Mark 120th Anniversary With Special Capsule Collection
Gola Classics is celebrating its 120th anniversary this spring with a special collection.
Ahead of its official anniversary date on May 22, the UK-based footwear company will release a special capsule featuring two colorways of its signature Elan sneaker as well as the brand’s Redford bag.
According to Gola, both anniversary Elan styles are made with a mix of leather and suede and feature a raw edge nylon tongue, terry cloth inner lining, metallic gold foil logo on the tongue, and debossed 120th logo on the heel tab. The in-socks also feature Gola’s 120th anniversary logo in brand colors.
The anniversary Redford features black leather as a base, with white detailing, antique brass hardware, and the Gola 120 logo on the front of the bag.
The 120th Elan sneakers will retail for $120 each, with women’s sizing ranging from 6 to 11 and men’s sizing ranging from 7 to 13. The 120th Redford bag will retail for $60.
“As we celebrate our 120th anniversary, we reflect on a legacy of innovation and commitment to our customers,” Donna Hill, marketing and digital director of Gola Classics, said in a statement. “Gola has stayed true to its roots through all these decades, introducing styles steeped in its heritage while reaching many milestones along the way. As we honor our legacy, we look forward to creating styles that empower and inspire every journey.”
Born in 1905, Gola was founded as a soccer footwear brand, manufacturing performance boots and shoes for British athletes. Many of the brand’s signature styles today are heritage styles that were first introduced decades earlier, such as the Harrier, Elan, Tennis Mark Cox, and more. The Elan silhouette was relaunched in 2023 and quickly became one of the brand’s most popular styles across the men’s and women’s collections. At 120 years, this makes Gola one of the oldest British sports brands.
The Gola 120th anniversary collection will be available exclusively at Golausa.com beginning the end of March.
