Women's Health Wednesday: Birth Defects Awareness
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - January is National Birth Defects Awareness Month. Greater awareness can help improve the lives of those living with these conditions and widen the network of support.
Birth defects are health conditions that develop in a baby before birth. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a baby is born with a condition every 4.5 minutes that affects the structure or function of their body.
In this week's Women's Health Wednesday Dr. Kate Tauber, a neonatal doctor at Albany Medical Center talks about what women can do to become better educated on how they can try to reduce the risks of certain defects in their babies.
