Travis Kelce wins Charity Challenge for NFL Man of the Year award
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nominee, Travis Kelce, has won a $35,000 prize from Nationwide Insurance to benefit his foundation, 87 & Running.
This is Kelce's second time winning the Charity Challenge award in the last five years. One time in 2020, and the other in 2021.
Kelce is one of the nominees for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, and this is the Kansas City Chief's fourth time winning the Charity Challenge in the previous five years.
Kelce racked up more than two million votes to take home his second title. He is the first two-time winner in the program’s 10-year history.
The $35,000 donation will go toward the 87 & Running Foundation -- an organization that helps underprivileged kids through the Kansas City metro get mentoring opportunities and motivation, helping them to develop skills in fields such as STEM, business, art, and athletics
Tyrann Mathieu (2021–22), Eric Berry (2015–16), and Patrick Mahomes (2022–23) were the previous Chiefs players to win.
The Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award will be presented during the NFL Honors on FOX and the NFL Network on Thursday, Feb. 6.
