Leif’s Auto Collision Center closing Tigard shop
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – America’s largest independent body shop, Leif’s Auto Collision Center, is closing as its owner retires the shop that first opened in 1991.
The closure, as first reported by the Oregonian, was confirmed to KOIN 6 News by Leif Hansen, the man behind the shop spanning five acres in Tigard.
"We are retiring here," he said. "Last cars will get out of here at the beginning of April."
In preparation for its closure, the auto shop will no longer accept any new customers as they manage the last of the 150 cars they need to work on.
He declined to say how many employees would be impacted when the shop closes. Hansen also said that he wouldn't be selling the company.
