Michelle Yeoh Dazzles In Shimmering Black Look at the National Board of Review Gala 2025
Michelle Yeoh attended the National Board of Review Gala in New York City on Tuesday following a glamorous appearance presenting at the Golden Globes Sunday night.
The Oscar-winning actress showed off a coordinating set from Shiatzy Chen’s Fall 2024 collection that included a glittery black sleeveless crop top with a high collar and a coordinating full-length skirt covered in sparkling sequins and intricate beadwork. The flowing skirt fell past Yeoh’s ankles with the hem eclipsing much of her shoes.
For footwear, the “Wicked” actress appeared to be wearing Balenciaga’s signature “Knife” pumps, known for their sharp, elongated pointy toes. The velvety style she wore combined a rounded vamp with razor-sharp toes. The velvet stiletto iteration of the silhouette retails for $965 on net-a-porter.com. Yeoh has worn different versions of the Knife pump recently.
Yeoh, who completed her elegant look with an assortment of dazzling jewelry and a black Richard Mille watch, was named a Balenciaga house ambassador in November 2023. She has since appeared in campaigns for the edgy brand and worn Balenciaga designs on the red carpet. The “Everything Everywhere All at Once” star wore a head-turning black gown from the brand’s fall 2021 couture collection at the Golden Globes.
When it comes to fashion, Yeoh has made a name for herself as someone who isn’t afraid to make a sartorial statement. Her Golden Globes gown, for instance, featured a dramatic, fluttery high neck. Aside from Balenciaga, her red carpet and press looks recently have hailed from Bottega Veneta, Schiaparelli and Gucci.
On the footwear front, the actress has worn embellished Roger Vivier pumps, metallic leather mules by Bottega Veneta, Gianvito Rossi platform boots, and Schiaparelli’s avent garde toe mules. She’s also been known to wear classic Jimmy Choos and Christian Louboutin styles.
