Nicole Kidman Complements Velvet Jean Paul Gaultier Dress With Christian Louboutin’s Sporty Kate Pumps
Nicole Kidman mixed French labels to attend the National Board of Review Awards Gala in New York City on Jan. 7, stepping out in a Jean Paul Gaultier gown and Christian Louboutin pumps. Kidman received the award for best actress at the event for her role in the A24 film “Babygirl.”
Kidman, styled by Jason Bolden, dressed up in a fitted, floor-length black velvet gown with long sleeves and a chic boat neckline. The look introduced elegantly understated detailing with a trim of baroque pearls at the sleeve cuffs, neckline and along the back. Several vertical strands of peals also covered a portion of Kidman’s back. Her blonde hair was styled in a side ponytail
The striking Jean Paul Gaultier piece was paired with black Christian Louboutin pumps, specifically the brand’s popular Sporty Kate silhouette which gets its name from supermodel Kate Moss. The shoe features a distinctive outline with a sharply pointed toe and a U-shaped curve to the vamp; the brand’s signature vibrant red hue is visible on the bottom of the pumps.
A stiletto heel boosts the style; the Kate is offered in various heights, with some options being 85 mm, 100 mm and the soaring 120 mm So Kate variation. It remains a regular style on red carpets, with Zendaya often donning the So Kate and more celebrities slipping on the heel. This isn’t Kidman’s first time wearing a Louboutin pump — for example, she wore a white heel from the brand when she attended the “Lioness” premiere back in October.
More recently, Kidman attended the Golden Globes on Jan. 5, where she wore a Balenciaga ensemble including a shimmering silver dress and a pair of Knife pumps from the brand.
Other stylish attendees at the National Board of Review Awards Gala included Ariana Grande, Elle Fanning, Lin-Manuel Miranda and more stars. See their looks below.
