'Not realistic': Fox host grills GOP senator about Trump's Greenland threats
Fox Business host Stuart Varney on Wednesday grilled Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) about President-elect Donald Trump's efforts to wrest control of Greenland from Denmark.
During the segment, Varney pressed Scott on whether Trump's desire to purchase the large icy territory was realistic given that Denmark has repeatedly insisted that it is not for sale under any circumstances.
"Taking over Greenland and the [Panama] Canal isn't a realistic proposal, is it?" he asked. "It's just a negotiating tactic, isn't it?"
"Well, it would be pretty exciting," Scott replied. "If you think about it, we've got a president that's going to focus on our national security. I mean, if you listen to what he's saying, it would be a great strategic asset, Greenland would be, for our defense... The Panama Canal, if they're not treating us fairly, I mean that's not fair! We built it, we paid for it! And so they need to treat us fairly!"

Varney was not satisfied with these answers, however.
"But would you be okay with using the military?" he asked.
"I don't know what he means by that," Scott acknowledged, referring to Trump's refusal to rule out a war with Denmark if it refused to surrender Greenland. "But here's what I believe: It would be exciting if Greenland was part of the United States."
