PNW Wednesday: Cloud-sun mix with mild temps
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A mix of morning clouds and afternoon sun will help temperatures stay mild around the Pacific Northwest Wednesday.
Above average temperatures are expected to remain across the region Wednesday. Willamette Valley highs will climb into the low 50s Wednesday as winds remain relatively calm. Clouds will also slowly decrease across the region throughout the day.
Wednesday's clear nighttime skies could aid in the fog development along the Willamette Valley by Thursday morning. Patchy fog will transition to mostly sunny skies as the above average temperatures remain. Expect a breeze a times on Thursday too, as strong winds from the gorge ramp up. Neighborhoods in the east Portland metro area could see wind gusts up to 25-30 mph throughout the afternoon.
The sunny January weather is expected to end with a cold front Friday.
This latest front will help cool temperatures Friday and into the weekend across Oregon and Washington. Afternoon highs will return to near average conditions as a few spotty showers linger into Saturday.
Temperatures are expected to remain in the upper 40s through the middle of next week with lots of dry time returning, too. Enjoy it!
