SAG Awards Nominations Won’t Be Announced Live Due to Palisades Fire
The 2025 SAG Awards nominations will no longer be announced at a live, in-person event on Wednesday as the Palisades Fire continues to rage in Los Angeles, California. “In an abundance of caution for the safety of our presenters, guests, and staff, the live in-person 31st Annual SAG Awards nominations announcement has been cancelled due to the wildfires and adverse wind conditions in Los Angeles,” SAG Awards organizers said in a statement. The nominations will instead be shared at 10:30 a.m. ET via press release and the SAG Awards website. “We look forward to celebrating these incredible actors and their work at the SAG Awards ceremony on February 23,” the statement concluded. “In the meantime, we urge everyone to stay safe, and thank you for your continued support.”
The news comes as several Hollywood premieres have been canceled, including for Unstoppable and Wolf Man on Tuesday night and Better Man and The Pitt on Wednesday. Deadline also reports that Prime Video’s Fallout, which films in Santa Clarita, has tentatively pushed back production on season two from Wednesday to Friday as a precaution. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, winds helped the Palisades Fire swell to 2,920 acres as of Tuesday evening. Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency, and 30,000 people are under evacuation orders.
