La Salle takes down Troy in electric rivalry matchup
TROY, NY (NEWS10) -- There's not much better than a rivalry matchup between two teams from the same city. That's what we had Tuesday night at Troy High School, with the Flying Horses welcoming in their neighbor La Salle in front of a raucous crowd. Both teams entered unbeaten in Colonial Council play.
Troy used a late second quarter run to take a 34-29 lead into halftime. La Salle took control in the third quarter, outscoring Troy 22-11 in the period. The Cadets held on from there on their way to a 75-71 win.
La Salle's Treddy Faison led all scorers with 32 points. Davon Maloney tallied 24 points for the Cadets, including 20 points in the second half. Stetson Merritt led Troy with 18 points.
