'Same BS trap': Never-Trump Republican blasts media over Greenland coverage
A fierce opponent of Donald Trump jabbed news outlets Tuesday over its recent reporting of the president-elect.
"The fact that no news channel is discussing the kidnapping of the venezuela oppositions son, but Trump and Greenland is all over, just means it will be four years of the same BS trap," wrote former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL).
Kinzinger previously voted to impeach Trump and joined the January 6th Committee investigating the riot at the Capitol. He has faced backlash from the GOP, even receiving death threats against his toddler son and being disowned by part of his family.
He was referencing that the son-in-law of self-exiled Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo González was kidnapped Tuesday in that country's capital.

González, who has said he defeated President Nicolás Maduro in last year’s presidential election, said Rafael Tudares was kidnapped as he was heading to drop off González’s two grandchildren at school in Caracas, The Associated Press reported. González said the kidnappers were "hooded men, dressed in black" and took Tudares into a gold-colored van.
Kinzinger's remarks came after Trump took to his social media site Truth Social to post Monday, "I am hearing that the people of Greenland are 'MAGA.' My son, Don Jr, and various representatives, will be traveling there to visit some of the most magnificent areas and sights. Greenland is an incredible place, and the people will benefit tremendously if, and when, it becomes part of our Nation. We will protect it, and cherish it, from a very vicious outside World. MAKE GREENLAND GREAT AGAIN!"
