2 APD officers injured in crash on Research Boulevard
AUSTIN (KXAN) — Two Austin police officers had minor injuries after a vehicle hit their patrol vehicles early Sunday morning in central Austin.
APD said the two officers responded to a reported disabled vehicle near the 9000 block of Research Boulevard, near Burnet Road, around 4 a.m. Sunday.
Both officers were inside their units when another vehicle driving on Research Boulevard hit both of their vehicles, police said.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Mason A. Mumford, 27, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. KXAN reached out to an attorney representing Mumford. This story will be updated if we receive a statement on his behalf.
APD said the case is still under investigation.
