VIDEO: 2 suspects caught burglarizing Clackamas County home
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said they're seeking tips related to a Rivergrove home burglary last week that was caught on camera.
On Friday, Jan. 3, just before 7 p.m., deputies responded to a reported burglary-in-progress. The homeowner was out of town but reported two men had broken into their house near Southwest Megly Court and Southwest Childs Road.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they began a search for the suspect, establishing a perimeter, and using drones, multiple patrol cars and a K9 unit.
However, deputies "later determined that the suspects likely fled before law enforcement arrived with a small amount of stolen property," the sheriff's office said in a press release.
"A witness reported seeing the suspects run to a vehicle on SW Woodcrest Ave, located just south of the SW Megly Ct address," officials said. "The vehicle, described as a silver or gray SUV, was reportedly driven by a third individual. Investigators believe the group may have been scouting homes in the area prior to the burglary on SW Megly Ct."
Based on the surveillance video, the two suspects — whose faces were both covered — are believed to both be men. One of the suspects was wearing a blue sweatshirt and blue pants. The other suspect was dressed in a multicolored jacket and pants.
Anyone with information — particularly residents in the surrounding area near Southwest Woodcrest Avenue — is encouraged to contact the Clackamas County Police Department.
