Christina Haack & Josh Hall Take Their Divorce to Instagram Ahead of 'The Flip Off' Premiere
It seems that Christina Haack and Josh Hall didn’t make a New Year’s resolution about an amicable divorce — they took their battle to social media. It was Hall who fired the first shot on Monday, Jan. 6 with their thoughts about HGTV releasing a scene from The Flip Off ahead of its Jan. 29 premiere.
“TFW you can’t get enough ratings with celebrity ????designers so you manufactured drama with me, a nobody,” he wrote on his Instagram Story about his argument with Haack that will be a part of the upcoming series. “@hgtv, you’ve changed.” Haack wasn’t going to let her ex have the final word, so she entered the chat. (You can see the screenshots here.)
“Manufactured?! Pretty sure no one at Hgtv told you to be rude to me …” she chimed in with a screenshot of his Instagram Story. “That was all natural.” The 41-year-old TV personality added a second post with her tear-streaked selfie. “This was taken June 21, 2024. After one of my shoots with Josh,” she wrote. “This is ‘real’ and a reminder to myself that I deserve better.”
The one-minute sneak peek for The Flip Off was released by HGTV on Jan. 3 and it shows a very uncomfortable exchange between Hall and Haack. Her ex seemed to be in an argumentative mood as they drove to the set. “This is a competition. We gotta pull out all stops,” he said in the video. “Whatever it takes to win, I’ll do it. Halls rule!” His then-wife didn’t seem impressed with his antics, so she didn’t respond.
This was when the conversation took a real negative turn. “You’re supposed to say it with me, or repeat it, or something that shows that you’re with me. “Remember, you’re a Hall now. Don’t get confused in this competition about what your last name is,” he replied. Haack appeared to resign herself to Hall’s tone when he added, “You’re rude.”
“I don’t overtalk,” she said softly.
“Yeah, the s—t you say and I’m just like, ‘I wish you’d shut up already,” Hall said. The conversation didn’t feel appropriate for the camera, but he wasn’t done. “My wife’s pissing me off already,” he continued.
She ended the heated discussion with a simple statement: “Are we there yet?”
Hall was removed as a full-time cast member from the home renovation competition, so it’s quite clear that his relationship with Haack will be on display in the scenes they filmed. It gives the network a narrative on how and why he exited the show — and it seems evident that HGTV is on Haack’s side.
