Watch live: Las Vegas police give update on Cybertruck explosion investigation
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is set to brief the public on its investigation into last week's Cybertruck explosion outside Trump International Hotel, which injured at least 7 people.
The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Matthew Livelsberger, was found in the rented vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head. Livelsberger was an active duty service member. A probe also found firework mortars and camp fuel canisters in the Tesla truck, likely the cause of the explosion. It was determined to be intentional.
Following the explosion — and a subsequent New Year's Day attack in New Orleans where a former Army soldier rammed a truck into a crowd, killing 14 people — fears of extremism within the military has risen.
The presser is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. EST.
