CapMetro Pickup expands to Decker Lane, Colony Park next week
AUSTIN (KXAN) — CapMetro's newest Pickup zone will launch next week, bringing expanded services to the northeast Austin areas near Decker Lane and Colony Park.
On Jan. 13, CapMetro will begin service to the Decker Pickup zone, bordered by Springdale Road to the west, U.S. Highway 290 to the north, Decker Lane to the east and East Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard down south. Those operations will run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, per CapMetro documents.
The new service zone will also offer connection points to Bus Route 20 Manor Road/Riverside, Route 233 Decker/Daffan Lane, Route 237 Northeast Feeder and Route 339 Tuscany. Destinations within the zone include Community First! Village, Travis County Exposition Center, University Hills Austin Public Library, the Colony Park neighborhood along with multiple schools in the area.
The Decker Pickup zone's launch is one of several approved spring service changes implemented by CapMetro. Starting Jan. 12, officials said the following bus routes will see minor schedule tweaks "to improve on-time performance and reliability":

- Route 10 South First/Red River

Later in 2025, CapMetro will bring online its two new MetroRapid lines that are part of Austin's Project Connect mass transit system. CapMetro’s Pleasant Valley line (Rapid 800) will originally run from the Mueller area down to a temporary station at Vertex, with a future expansion to the upcoming Goodnight Ranch Park & Ride. Down the road, connection points will include transfers to the city's upcoming light rail system along with the future Green Line commuter rail.
For the Expo Center line (Rapid 837), it will temporarily start at Loyola Lane/Decker in northeast Austin and run downtown to Republic Square. It'll include connection points to CapMetro's high-frequency network, Red Line at the Downtown Station along with the Rapid 801 and 803 lines.
More details on those spring 2025 service changes are available online.
