Love Our Locals $20.24 campaign raises thousands for local businesses, nonprofits in Saratoga
SARATOGA, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The 'Love Our Locals $20.24' initiative raised over $315,000 for local businesses and nonprofit organizations, the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce announced Monday. The campaign, started in 2021, encourages local residents to support Saratoga County businesses and non-profits by spending or donating $20.24 during the end of the year.
Once shopping is finished, donors and shoppers are then encouraged to submit their receipts to the Chamber to be entered into a gift card giveaway. In 2024, nearly 3,500 receipts were submitted during the eight-week campaign.
"The Chamber would like to thank everyone who supported Love Our Locals $20.24 by choosing to spend with local businesses and nonprofits. Our hope is that you will continue to love our locals all throughout 2025," said Todd Shimkus, president of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce.
The 2024 campaign was sponsored by SaratogaWine.com. 50 other local businesses also donated gift cards for the giveaway.
"We are extremely grateful to our sponsors and gift card donors who helped make this program a success in 2024, and we look forward to bringing back Love Our Locals $20.25 later this year," Shimkus added.
The $20.24 raised more than $100,000 than the $20.23 campaign. Since its start, the campaign has raised over $843,616 with over 10,000 receipts collected.
