New Korean barbecue spot opening in Colonie
COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Seoul Korean BBQ Restaurant is soon opening in Colonie's Village Square at 1770 Central Avenue. The restaurant is 100% women-owned and minority-owned.
Seoul Korean BBQ Restaurant is owned by MiJung Kim, who also owns Seoul Korean Restaurant in Latham. The new restaurant will have traditional, authentic Korean barbecue with grills on each table. The staff will then cook the food at the table in front of the guests.
Kim wanted to open Seoul Korean BBQ Restaurant to honor her husband, Steve Yun, who was active military and died from cancer toward the end of last year. The menu will have 30 to 35 grilled items, as well as other Korean food staples. The restaurant will also serve wine and beer.
The restaurant is opening in the former Namu Korean BBQ Restaurant space, which closed on January 1 after 11 years. Seoul Korean BBQ Restaurant is set to be open Wednesday through Monday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Seoul Korean BBQ Restaurant was supposed to open earlier this January, but they ran into some issues with the gas. A new opening date has not yet been announced.
