Hugh Jackman & Sutton Foster Hard-Launch Their Relationship Amid Affair Allegations
Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster aren’t interested in hiding their romance in 2025. The dynamic duo hard-launched their relationship during a Monday, Jan. 6 outing in Santa Monica, California that was mysteriously (or not-so-mysteriously) captured by paparazzi after rumors of their affair were buzzing for months.
Jackman and Foster looked so happy to be in each other’s company while confirming their secret romance to the public in photos published by People. Jackman wore a gray T-shirt and black jacket paired with white denim. Foster sported a long olive-green dress and a camel coat for their date night out on the town. They tightly grasped hands and gazed into each other’s eyes with complete joy while trying to look casual as their photograph was snapped.
The confirmation of their relationship comes after months of speculation that Jackman and Foster began an affair while starring in the Broadway revival of The Music Man which ran from December 2021 through January 2023. Jackman separated from his spouse of 27 years, Deborra-Lee Furness in September 2023, and Foster filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years, Ted Griffin. The photos only indicate one thing, though — they are dating now in 2025, it doesn’t give fans any indication of when their relationship began.
Still, insiders have been talking for months about Jackman and Foster, especially when it comes to the reason why they were hesitant about making their love public. “They’re very passionate about each other and want the same things,” a source told Closer Weekly in late December. “But they’re trying to move forward in a caring, considerate way.” In addition to their former spouses’ “hurt” feelings, there are children involved in this situation. Foster shares a daughter, Emily, 7, with Griffin, and Jackman has two adult children with Furness, Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19.
The timing must have felt right to them because the 56-year-old actor was spotted in the audience of Foster’s Los Angeles production of Once Upon a Mattress on Saturday, Jan. 4. DeuxMoi published the snapshots of Jackman engaging in a conversation with legendary actress Carole Burnett, who played the title role in the musical in 1959. The timing of the Jan. 6 paparazzi photos doesn’t feel like a coincidence.
It will be fascinating to see if Jackman and the 49-year-old actress make their debut on the red carpet during award show season since they seem very comfortable with each other. They may be treading lightly for now in the press, but it’s clear the relationship is a serious one for Jackman and Foster.
