2 men accused of attacking each other in Grand Central slashing: NYPD
MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) – Two men are accused of slashing each other during a fight inside Grand Central Terminal early Tuesday, according to the NYPD.
It happened on the Nos. 4, 5 and 6 northbound subway platform just before 1 a.m. A 50-year-old man and a 30-year-old man were arguing with each other when the fight got physical, police said.
A knife was recovered at the scene, according to authorities. Both men were taken into custody, police said.
It's unclear if they knew each other.
There have been three stabbings inside Grand Central Terminal since Christmas Eve. A man was stabbed on Saturday evening after asking another man to turn down his music on a Metro-North train and two people were attacked at the Grand Central Terminal subway station on Christmas Eve, according to authorities.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch announced on Monday that 200 more police officers will be riding the trains with passengers. In addition, the 50 most dangerous subway stations will be staffed with more officers.
