1/7/2025: Cold & windy, few flurries
Bundle up! Temperatures are in the single digits and teens this morning - but it *feels* like it's sub-zero in many spots after accounting for blustery winds blowing from the northwest.
Staying cold and blustery all day, with highs in the low 20's feeling like the single digits. There will be periods of light snow and flurry activity, but minimal accumulation is expected.
Actual temperatures fall into the low teens and single digits tonight, bur wind chill values will be well below zero in many spots.
Tomorrow is a bit brighter, but also a bit cooler. Expect highs near 20 and "feels like" temperatures in the single digits.
Friday is still chilly, but a bit more manageable with less wind and highs in the upper 20's. The next chance active weather will come on Saturday - but it's not a sure thing. We know that a system will develop along the east coast. If it tracks towards New Jersey and Long Island, many of us will see snow on it's northern flank. If it stays much further south, we may miss out entirely.
For now we'll say there's a chance for snow across the region, but that those chances are higher in the Catskills, Mid-Hudson Valley, and the Berkshires.
We expect to be cool, but quieter in the wake of that system with morning lows in the upper teens and afternoon highs closer to freezing.
