We’d welcome this robot overlord into our homes
A one-armed robot vacuum that picks up dirty socks? Sign us up.
Robot vacuums are getting arms now. Ahead of CES 2025, Roborock announced the one-armed Saros Z70, which it says will end the cleaning-before-vacuuming ritual as we know it.
Equipped with a foldable five-axis mechanical arm and dual cameras, one on the arm and the other on the body of the vacuum, Roborock says the machine can currently recognize socks, sandals, crumpled tissues, and towels (more items will be added in future updates). Once items are recognized, the vacuum’s arm pops out to grab and move it to designated spots, like to the closet, a basket, or the trash.
