Can you spot the error in one man’s VERY permanent proposal, which has people begging to know if she said yes?
A MAN has left people stunned after revealing the incredibly permanent way he proposed to his other half.
In the picture, which has gone viral, he showed off his new tattoo, which he’d used to pop the question.
He captioned the snap, shared on Instagram: “Proposal tattoo from yesterday.
“Stay tuned to find out YES or NO!”
He then mentioned the tattoo artist as he wrote: “Thanks Jeremy!”
The inking – which took up the whole of his upper arm – began with the name of his beloved, Nicole.
It then had “WILL YOU MARRY ME?” in bold, capital letters, followed by check boxes next to “Yes” or “No”.
“Valid from 2024 – 4ever,” the inking said at the bottom.
The tattoo was finished off with a note in brackets, which read: “With Dads approval”.
And while the majority of people were stunned that the man had gone to the extreme lengths of proposing with a tattoo, others pointed out an obvious error in the inking.
“Dad’s*. Punctuation matters,” they wrote.
“This bothers me so much. First thing I noticed!” another agreed.
“Cost another few bucks he didn’t have,” a third joked.
While someone else said: “As someone with many bad tattoos…no regerts!”
“Just one (dad), so Dad’s approval would be correct,” another confirmed.
“That is if you’re still participating in outdated ways!”
“Cringy AF and there’s a grammatical error (dad’s),” someone else pointed out.
“The missing apostrophe in ‘dads’ is making me crazy,” another sighed.

- Time it right – the average Brit waits between 18 months and two years to get engaged. But you might feel ready after six months, or decide to wait five plus years to pop the question. - Pay attention – hopefully you haven’t reached the point yet of your frustrated partner leaving their laptop open with ‘hints’ for rings they like. Ideally you’ll want the ring to be a secret, but also something they’d happily wear – and for the rest of their life, so just a TEENY bit of pressure here. You need to be paying attention to any comments your partner makes about other people’s rings, what they do and don’t like, and what’s most important to them – size, clarity, specific details. If you’re really unsure, or if your partner hates surprises, it’s best to propose with a dummy and then buy the real thing together.
- Family matters – tradition dictates that you ask the dad’s permission for his daughter’s hand in marriage, but it’s not so straightforward nowadays. Maybe your partner’s closer to their step-dad, or wants her mum to walk her down the aisle, in which case you’d be better off chatting to them. Maybe they’d find it weird if you went to their parents first, in which case you could ditch the whole thing. Or perhaps they’re closer to their friends and the best idea would be letting your partner’s best mate pick the ring. These things do matter and could come back to bite you if handled in the wrong way.
- Plan the setting – does your partner dread being centre of attention, or are they someone who’d be gutted if you proposed at home, berating you forever for a lack of ‘effort’? Plan the place for your perfect proposal – how busy it’ll be, whether you’ll be able to get a good pic there, and other logistics around it. A proposal at the top of a mountain might sound good in theory but your girlfriend might not actually appreciate it when there’s sweat dripping down her forehead and she’s not wearing the cute dress she’d imagined for the pictures. Personally, I can’t think of anything worse than a public proposal where everyone’s waiting to hear your answer – in a group of friends, the middle of a restaurant or with an announcement at an event. So bear all of this in mind and remember, it’s meant to be about what THEY want, not you.
Meanwhile, others blasted the man for using the “creepy” tattoo to propose.
“Proposal? More like hostage situation!” one commented.
“This is one of the worst tattoo ideas I’ve ever seen,” another added.
“If that’s not a red flag to run a mile, I don’t know what is!!” a third said.
“Instant red flag. Childish, not thinking forward person,” someone else agreed.
“Ugly and unnecessary,” another blasted.
As someone else pleaded: “It’s henna. Right? … Right?”
“I wish but the skin’s raised as it typically is on a fresh tat,” another answered.
With someone else agreeing: “Nope… see that reddish irritated skin around that white outline around that black?”
And others just wanted to know whether or not “she said yes”, with the man yet to respond.
