Mission BBQ delivers meals to veterans in need
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A local restaurant has found a unique way to support military veterans in need. Mission BBQ delivered warm meals to the Albany Housing Coalition on Monday.
The coalition provides a range of services to local veterans going through a difficult time. One veteran said the event was about more than just the food.
"It just means a lot to show that people really do care about the veterans in the community," Lorenzo Hodges said. "And this was a really nice event they put on today. They didn't have to do this. And just shows they care about the veterans."
The menu included chicken, mac and cheese, cornbread and more. It's part of the restaurant's annual Day of Service. They close the first Monday in January to support people in need.
