PHOTOS: New luxury hotel proposed for Oregon Coast property with $3 million view
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A unique Oceanside property with panoramic views of the Oregon Coast could soon be the site of a new luxury hotel.
The 1.04-acre property perched above Oceanside Beach State Park formerly served as the House on the Hill Motel and the now-shuttered Clifftop Inn. While the property remains listed for more than $2.9 million, the Portland-based investment group Fusion Lodging plans to purchase the property and build a new luxury hotel on the site, the Oceansider first reported.
Coley and Dustin Trost with Rob Trost Real Estate told KOIN 6 News that the investment group hopes to build a 24-unit hotel, which would include an on-site spa, restaurant and conference center. In its listing, the real estate company describes the Oceanside property as “one of the most dramatic and recognizable oceanfront properties on the Oregon Coast.”
“Restore the current structures, consisting of 12 units or create your own masterpiece,” the Zillow listing reads. “This gated estate is perched on a private headland overlooking the Three Arch Rocks National Wildlife Refuge. Spectacular ocean views. … a true legacy property and the crown jewel of Oceanside.”
Although the property still contains the old hotel, which could be remodeled, a slide occurring on the property’s southwest makes the property better suited for a new layout, Coley Trost said. Any new buildings would be set 25 feet back from the sliding peninsula.
The property has undergone extensive geologic testing to determine the best options for building on the property, the Trosts said. The deal with Fusion Lodging is expected to be finalized by April or May. However, interested buyers can still make offers in the event that the deal falls through.
In 2022, Fusion Lodging purchased the Adobe Restaurant and Lounge in Yachats and connecting properties for $17.53 million, Yachats News reports. Following the purchase, the company spent $2 million remodeling the Oregon coast property.
