You Get (and Deserve) What You Tolerate. That Isn’t Good News for the UK.

Last year I wrote the first two of what will probably be a lengthy series of novels, and readers of both have noticed a rather eerie bit of prognostication coming from them.

In King of the Jungle, there was an attempted assassination of the Trumpian character which was somewhat uncomfortably similar in its circumstances to that of the Butler, Pennsylvania near-miss of the real McCoy. Right down to the suspicious inability of the Secret Service to cover the candidate in a key spot.

That got me a bit of notice in some of the radio and podcast appearances I made promoting the book.

But in the sequel to King of the Jungle, From Hellmarsh With Love, the similarities to real life were and are a lot less eerie — though no less disturbing.

There’s a Tommy Robinson character in the book who faces imprisonment for the crime of attempting to expose the disgusting scourge of Muslim “grooming gangs” who have engaged in a lengthy, systematic mass rape of an entire generation of native English girls — with the inevitable if hideously overdue, popular reaction to the British political class having covered for the atrocity.

I’ll not give away too much of the plot of the book — I’ll simply suggest that you read it.

But what’s unmistakable is that everything in British history and current events over the past couple of decades stems from a simple failure of its leadership to recognize the most basic of truths.

Which is that you get what you tolerate.

And you deserve what you tolerate.

And what Britain’s leadership has not only tolerated but tacitly encouraged, is utterly intolerable.

In a vacuum, you would think that a tiny immigrant minority from the poorest and most backward places on earth systematically organizing a program of grooming and rape of the children of the native majority in one of the proudest nations on earth would engender the most dire consequences possible.

You would think that a mosque that encourages or even looks the other way at its parishioners teaming up to recruit girls as young as 13, who would then hook them on alcohol and drugs, sexually abuse them, and turn out into sex slavery would be in a great deal of danger.

I’m talking pitchforks and torches here. And I’m talking years and years ago when this rolling disaster first started. It’s gobsmacking that those grooming gangs could operate without putting the entire communities they hid among in physical danger.

Much less survive without being imprisoned and deported with great vigor by the British government.

Instead, almost nothing happened as, for the bulk of this century, a sizable and growing percentage of the mostly Pakistani Muslim men in Great Britain have participated in what can best be described as a sexual jihad against their host country.

And the current Prime Minister of Great Britain, Keir Starmer, turns out to have a long history of enabling the grooming gangs.

The head of the new Reform UK Party, Nigel Farage, is calling for Starmer to be investigated. But Starmer’s role in the cover-up of programmatic mass rape in that country is fairly well known and it didn’t stop him from rising to the top of the Labour Party and ultimately getting the U.K.’s top job.

But interestingly, Farage — for all of his bluster about Starmer — is conducting his mad-as-hell-and-not-going-to-take-it-anymore advocacy largely within the sphere of “acceptable” British politics. That’s the venue that allowed the grooming gangs to bloom in the first place. And he knows this well — after all, Farage has been a critic of his government’s coddling of the grooming gangs for more than 15 years and has his own scars to prove it.

But Farage continues to disparage Robinson, who is currently imprisoned on a contempt of court charge for having published a documentary film that exposed a media lie — that a Syrian refugee was abused by teachers and children at a British school, when in fact it was the Syrian guilty of the abuse. It makes very little sense that Farage would do so, except that the Reform UK party leader is so covetous of the good graces of the British ruling class that there is only so much “bad boy” he’s willing to include in his presentation.

This has positioned him not so well for what should be the coming of his time as the U.K.’s next prime minister.

The grooming-gang issue is aflame worldwide now, not thanks to From Hellmarsh With Love but to Elon Musk, who turned it into a viral explosion by promoting Robinson’s work, calling the rape gangs “the worst mass crime against the people of Britain ever,” and criticizing Farage for denouncing Robinson. This now makes the British upper class comfortable in looking down their noses at Musk in the same way they do with Robinson.

In the X post referenced above, Douglas Murray is perfectly right that polite British society has ignored primary problems by attacking the messengers raising them, something they’ve done ever since Enoch Powell, the first British leader to point out the threat mass immigration poses to a society built on common ethnicity and culture as Britain is, was denounced as a racist.

Tommy Robinson’s Luton accent, combative style, and working-class manner — what can he know about public policy, he didn’t attend Oxford, Cambridge, or the London School of Economics! — have been used to discredit the entire endeavor of shining a light on what a very small Muslim minority, mostly from Pakistan, has been doing to Britain’s native female population.

And what is so disgusting about this, and everyone knows it to be true, is that it has been allowed because the grooming gangs don’t prey on the daughters of the British professional classes. They prey on the lower classes — the government-dependent, the broke, and the uneducated living in the council estates (which is what the housing projects are called). And because they do, the British elite couldn’t care less.

No, that’s not even it. The elite in that country are actively choosing the grooming gangs over their victims because to choose otherwise would be “racism” — and to be thought a racist by one’s elite peers is something worse than a violent death.

And certainly worse than some auto mechanic’s daughter being groomed, raped, and destroyed by a cabal of South Asian men who believe they’re serving Allah by taking the infidel’s women as slaves according to their interpretation of the Quran.

Everything about this is unspeakable, which is perhaps why it’s only now, two decades on, that it’s finally galvanizing the British people. It’s so unspeakable that it wasn’t spoken about in the halls of power in Britain. At least, not to any degree of real effect.

A sane society would respond to the epidemic of grooming gangs in town after town by deporting everyone even peripherally involved — after lengthy prison terms for those closer to the center — and by placing a permanent hold on any additional Muslim male immigration. And by clamping down harder on Islam than the British government ever did on Catholicism (which is not a low standard). And continuing to ratchet things tighter until grooming gangs no longer exist at all in the U.K. and would-be groomers and rapists in the name of Allah shiver at the thought of the consequences of such behavior.

Or else, the public might take matters into their own hands.

My understanding is that the “migrant hotel” stormed and set aflame by one mob of Englishmen during last summer’s riots was actually the headquarters for a grooming gang to abuse little girls. So there might be some sanity left in Britain after all.

But not in its ruling class. Those who hate those Brits below it so much that they’ll tolerate and excuse the rape of their daughters.

This is what a dying society looks like. It may be too late for Great Britain. It would be nice to see that country at least go down fighting, however. Perhaps Farage might want to rethink his petty objections and join with Robinson and his millions of followers in building a coalition to save Great Britain.

Or if not, America ought to revisit our “special relationship” with a country that no longer shares our values and offers very little to that relationship at all.

The Ashton Jeanty Bears Smoke Just Got Even Thicker

The draft is three weeks away now. GM Ryan Poles and head coach Ben Johnson have pieced together an off-season that is earning widespread praise across the league. The question is whether they can stick the landing with their 1st round pick in the draft. Current projections have the top three picks likely being a mix of Cam Ward, Travis Hunter, and Abdul Carter. After that, it gets tricky. People in Chicago want to know where running back Ashton Jeanty will end once the dust settles.

Widespread belief has been that the Las Vegas Raiders are the heavy favorites to take him at 6th overall, with New Orleans at #9 also being a possibility. It makes sense. Las Vegas’ best option right now is a 33-year-old Raheem Mostert. New Orleans knows Alvin Kamara turns 30 in July. Both teams need to think about the future at that position. Both have head coaches who like to run the ball. One thing is clear. A source told SM that those around the league believe one thing is certain.

“He likely won’t get passed Chicago if he falls that far.”

Ashton Jeanty is a strong probability for the Bears.

Whispers from Halas Hall indicate they love the Boise State star. It isn’t hard to see why. He nearly broke Barry Sanders’ single-season rushing record in 2024, nearly winning the Heisman in the process. The guy carried his team to the college football playoffs. He’s built like a brick house with power, speed, contact balance, and vision. There aren’t any truly glaring weaknesses in his game. He’s earned comparisons to the likes of LaDainian Tomlinson and Marshawn Lynch. The Bears haven’t had a back of that caliber since Matt Forte.

Try to imagine what this offense could look like with Ashton Jeanty, Rome Odunze, D.J. Moore, and Cole Kmet all as options for quarterback Caleb Williams. Throw all of it into Johnson’s offense, and you can understand why some people around the league aren’t wild about the idea. They are quietly hoping Jeanty goes somewhere else. One thing is certain. If he gets past the Raiders, the noise will get loud in a hurry. It would mark the first time in 20 years the Bears have taken a running back in the 1st round.
