Last chance to vote for 2025 Gold Derby Film Awards nominations: Deadline is Jan. 10
Time is running out to vote for the 2025 Gold Derby Film Awards nominations. As of today we’ve had 1,700 registered users chime in to let us know what they think were the best achievements in film from the calendar year 2024. You have until the end of the day on Friday, Jan. 10, to cast your ballot. So there’s still a little time to catch up on films you might have missed before the deadline. Remember that you can update your ballot as often as you wish right up to the very last minute. No votes are final until all voting closes on Jan. 10. Nominations will then be announced on Jan. 16.
To cast your votes, you have to register for a free Gold Derby account here if you don’t have one already. Then visit our predictions center here. Scroll down to “Gold Derby Film Awards Nominations 2025” and click the green box that says “vote” to enter your choices in as many categories as you wish. Don’t worry, if you abstain from voting in any categories your other votes will still count.
To enter your choices, click on a category at the top of the voting page. Below that, add candidates from the left column to the right column by clicking on the green + symbol, and then click “save.”
Nominees are decided by preferential ballot, so you’ll rank your top three choices in each category, except for Best Picture where you can rank up to five films. Your top choice gets three points, your second gets two points, and your third gets one point, except in Best Picture, where your number-one choice gets five points, your second choice gets four points, and so on. So passion is key: it takes multiple third-place votes to match the voting power of a first-place vote, ensuring that our list represents the very best of the best of what our readers have seen. Illustrated voting instructions can be found here. So get those votes in before it’s too late. And find out who made the cut when nominations are announced Jan. 16.
