Peaches Café to renovate, 5th Corner Goods & Gifts to relocate in Stuyvesant Plaza
GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Two businesses in Stuyvesant Plaza have announced updates. Peaches Café will undergo a full renovation, and the 5th Corner Goods & Gifts store will relocate to a new storefront within the plaza.
"Stuyvesant Plaza is pleased to support the enhancement of Peaches Café, a beloved local staple, while providing a new home within the Plaza for 5th Corner Goods and Gifts. These changes reflect our dedication to nurturing local favorites," said Stuyvesant Plaza General Manager Rachel Ferluge. "Our guests have shown tremendous love for both businesses, and these updates ensure they will continue to thrive and bring joy to our community."
Peaches Café opened in 1982 as an ice cream parlor that also served waffles and sandwiches. After popular demand the business became a full-service restaurant featuring a variety of breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert options.
The storefront will undergo a full renovation starting this month, but the café will still serve customers until mid-February. The business hopes to reopen the space in early April to continue serving guests.
"Peaches has enjoyed a long, successful tenure at Stuyvesant Plaza," said Peaches Café Co-Owner Brian Dunbar. "We’re excited to rebrand ourselves and renovate our space, and we’re looking forward to continuing to serve our loyal patrons for many years to come."
Also happening this month, the 5th Corner Goods & Gifts store will be relocating within the Plaza. 5th Corner Goods & Gifts store will be moving to a storefront on the south side of the plaza by the end of January.
The gift store joined the plaza as a pop-up shop in October 2023 to supplement its flagship store in Delmar. The shop offers a variety of seasonal and eco-friendly gifts, from bath and body products, to clothing, to office products, and plants.
"We’d like to thank Stuyvesant Plaza for their ongoing support of the small business community," said 5th Corner Goods and Gifts Co-Owner Ricky Talmage. "Our business has grown dramatically during the relatively brief time that we have operated at Stuyvesant Plaza, and we look forward to showcasing our innovative and diverse offerings to many new and returning customers in the New Year."
Stuyvesant Plaza has also announced the opening of new clothing stores and the relocation of Bare Blends for the 2025 year. For more information about the Plaza, including which businesses are available, visit the plaza's website.
