UAE President visits Pakistan to strengthen bilateral ties
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, visited Islamabad to discuss enhancing relations with Pakistan. He was warmly received by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The Pakistani Prime Minister’s Office announced Sheikh Mohammed’s visit on Monday, January 6, through a statement shared on social media platform X.
According to the statement, discussions focused on expanding economic, political, and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
Prime Minister Sharif expressed gratitude for the UAE’s key role in supporting Pakistan’s development. He highlighted Pakistan’s interest in collaborating with the UAE in renewable energy, technology, trade, infrastructure, and skills development.
The UAE President commended Pakistan’s economic progress over the past year and emphasized the UAE’s desire to strengthen ties, particularly in the mining and agriculture sectors. He noted that Pakistan’s growing economic stability offers new opportunities for bilateral investment.
The visit comes amid heightened security and political tensions in Pakistan, fueled by widespread protests from supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
