Zoe Saldana Wins 1st Golden Globe & Praises Competitors in Acceptance Speech, Brings Mom as Date
Zoe Saldana is having a great night at the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday (January 5)!
The 46-year-old actress opened the evening by winning the first award of the night – Best Supporting Female Actor in a Motion Picture for her work in Emilia Perez. It was a stacked category that saw her competing with the likes of her costar Selena Gomez and Wicked‘s Ariana Grande.
During her emotional acceptance speech, Zoe praised all of her competitors and showed some love to her date in the audience – her mom Asalia Nazario.

“I’m filled with adrenaline, but my heart is full of gratitude,” Zoe said while tearfully accepting her award.
She continued, saying that she felt “so blessed” to share the moment with her costars and that she was “in awe” of her fellow nominees.
“I know it is a competition, but all that I have witnessed is just us showing up for each other and celebrating each other, and it’s just so beautiful,” she said.
