Lafayette mobile home catches fire while occupant was next door
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – On Saturday, Lafayette firefighters responded to a mobile home fire in the 100 block of Hebert Road.
When firefighters arrived on scene, heavy flames were coming from the mobile home. First responders entered the dwelling to extinguish the fire and search for possible occupants. No one was inside. The occupant was at a neighbor’s home. Firefighters brought the fire under control quickly preventing damages to neighboring mobile homes. The mobile home sustained heavy fire damage.
Authorities say the occupant of the mobile home left his home approximately 20 minutes prior to a neighbor reported the fire. Fire official determined the fire originated in the living room.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
