'This is so stupid': Trump team mocked for scheme to take pressure off Cabinet nominees
On Sunday morning, all three of the hosts of MSNBC's "The Weekend" laughed off a report that Donald Trump's inner circle has instructed his cabinet nominees to stay off social media until after they have had their confirmation hearings.
Earlier in the week the New York Post reported that Trump's incoming chief of staff Susie Wiles sent out a memo to nominees, instructing them: "While this instruction has been delivered previously, I am reiterating that no member of the incoming administration or Transition speaks for the United States or the President-elect himself."
“Accordingly, all intended nominees should refrain from any public social media posts without prior approval of the incoming White House counsel,” she added.

That led to a round of sarcasm on the MSNBC morning show.
"I presume that does not mean Donald Trump himself," co-host Michael Steele quipped.
"Listen, I have to say, kudos to the operative, because that's the right thing to do but it's amazing because it means you're not worried about being an anti-vaxxer, credible accusations of sexual assault or being cozy with the Assad regime, you are worried about what they could post in the waning days of their confirmation hearing," Alicia Menendez offered as Steele listened and grinned.
"Oh, yeah. To be clear, if those things were barriers to entry they wouldn't have been nominated," co-host Symone Sanders Townsend sarcastically remarked.
"Here's the deal though," Steele interjected. "Doesn't matter whether you tweet it out, baby, we got it."
"Your stuff is already out there! People don't have to tweet –– this is so stupid," he continued.
