Three keys for the Bears to beat the Packers
GREEN BAY, Wis. — Three keys for the Bears, who are on a 10-game losing skid, to win Sunday’s season finale against the rival Packers:
Do something — anything — in the first quarter.
The Bears have totaled 704 yards in the first quarter, the fewest in the NFL this year. Their two touchdowns are the fewest, too. Caleb Williams’ passer rating of 79.2 is fifth-worst. The Bears have bemoaned their first-quarter struggles for months; it’d be progress, albeit tiny, for them to actually do something about it in the final game of the season.
Stop the run
The Bears’ rushing defense has been brutal in the second half of the season. The Packers’ Josh Jacobs has a chance to finish as high as third in the NFL in rushing yards with a good game Sunday at Lambeau Field. He’s tied for second in the NFL in rushing touchdowns, too.
Let Caleb cook
Williams is coming off maybe his worst game of the season. Setting his course in a positive direction would help give the rookie quarterback at least a little momentum heading into the offseason.
