Rourkela: Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers put up a spirited performance to defeat Delhi SG Pipers 4-1 in an exciting contest here at the on-going Hero Hockey India League at the iconic Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium. It was goals by Sukhjeet Singh (1'), Jugraj Singh (17', 38') and Abhishek (47') that helped Tigers register their third consecutive win while Gareth Furlong scored the lone goal for Delhi SG Pipers.

Rourkela: Team Gonasika secured their first win of Hero Hockey India League (HIL) 2024-25 as they beat Hyderabad Toofans 3-1 at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela on Saturday. SV Sunil (2`), Victor Charlet (33`) and Nilam Sanjeep Xess (60`) scored for Team Gonasika while Tim Brand (12`) scored for the Hyderabad Toofans.

Only 14 seconds had passed after the pushback when Affan Yousuf received the ball in midfield just ahead of the halfway line. He turned sharply to receive the ball, and switched on the afterburners to dribble towards the goal, drawing three defenders towards him. It opened up space for Sukhjeet Singh down the right channel and Affan’s pass was timed precisely to his teammate. Sukhjeet’s first touch was near perfect as he beat his marker in front, turned and fired a forehand shot past goalkeeper Pawan.
