Catholic Archbishop’s Unhinged New Year’s Rant
In his apocalyptic novel Lord of the World, first published in 1907 and centered on the Catholic Church’s final stand against Masonic globalism and communism, author and priest Robert Hugh Benson imagined that the penultimate Pope will spend his time quietly writing and publishing encyclicals and letters, instructing the Catholics of the world in their faith.
No unhinged rant was issued against the most virulently, vitriolically anti-Catholic administration ever.
These encyclicals and letters will be offered or distributed in parishes and the few cathedrals remaining under the Church’s patronage across the world. Of course, Benson’s was an imagination rooted in the 19th and 20th centuries. The reality of the future he envisioned is much different, and while Benson’s imaginary pontiff may have sustained the marginalized and persecuted faith of many, some prelates today should, perhaps, not have access to their social media accounts.
In a recent series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller of San Antonio, Texas, released an unhinged tirade, riddled with spelling errors and grammatical mistakes, faulting President-elect Donald Trump for the jihadist terrorist attack that rocked New Orleans on New Year’s Day.
The archbishop began, “The killing today is the result of words and actions that leaders have demonstrated in our recent history. We should not blame others. We need to take responsibility. We need civil discourse and lots of humility and charity.” He continued, “Let us not blame others for the wrong we have perpetuated from leadership. Check it out! We pray for the gift only God can give. Let us convert, change, and serve well!”
“Narcissism should NOT be celebrated. Humility, kindness & respect should be our identity. Forget about greatness, lies and stupidness. We should search for truth, honesty, and what is good and right. We don’t find this in our Government. One person does not represent who we are,” Garcia-Siller added, leading many social media users to infer that he was referring to Trump. He went on, “Stop all this tyrant words and actions. We want peace! Change your attitude. Attitude does good things if you truly want. Do you want peace? Christ can help you! He is the Prince of Peace! God, God, God.”
The archbishop then specifically called out Trump, eliminating any guesswork: “Why these tragedies? Because elect president’s words in the last few years … If we trigger actions … what do we want? If the leadership speak about hate, we will’ve hate. Hate. If we have actions of love ,we’ll love. Some people does not want to love. They have a problem. Big …” He concluded, “We follow God’s & the US Constitution which follows life values. We’re against those who think & feel that there’re better, controlling the USA Constitution. Beyond the Law? They’re irrational and emotionally sick. It’s sad, people follow them. What a pity! People choose be sick!”
(The original spelling, grammar, syntax, and punctuation of Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller’s posts have been repeated above. All spelling errors, grammatical mistakes, fragmented sentences, and other blunders are the archbishop’s.)
When Joe Biden was “elected” in 2020, along with his deputy Kamala Harris, it represented the most radically, violently pro-abortion administration in U.S. history. Even after the fall of Roe v. Wade in the summer of 2022, the Biden-Harris regime continued to skirt, circumvent, and outright ignore the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling and use government agencies to promote, fund, and carry out abortions.
Yet Garcia-Siller did not fault Biden for the “killing” wrought by abortion. No unhinged rant was issued against the most virulently, vitriolically anti-Catholic administration ever. No, instead, Garcia-Siller and his archdiocesan and NGO cronies took a fat check for assisting the Biden-Harris administration’s illegal immigration invasion of the U.S.
Much of the operating budget of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) comes from the federal government, in exchange for migrant and “refugee” resettlement services. In short, the USCCB, along with groups like Catholic Charities, have played a key role in facilitating the illegal immigration crisis currently crippling the U.S. Garcia-Siller, along with the likes of Bishop Mark Seitz of El Paso, constantly reject the Catholic Church’s long-held position on national sovereignty, cultural inheritance, and borders, demonizing any who dare to fight for their country’s preservation.
Yet when it comes to pro-abortion radicals advocating for the wanton slaughter of innocent children — or Catholic schools blatantly contradicting the Church’s moral teachings on sexuality — or left-wing activists actually burning down Catholic churches — or the nation’s top law enforcement agency illegally spying on American Catholics — many of the prelates who make up the USCCB remain deafeningly silent.
In fact, Chicago’s Cardinal Blase Cupich, a USCCB powerbroker and heavy hitter, spoke at the Democratic National Convention last year, failing to condemn the diabolically pro-abortion Harris-Walz ticket, but remembering to carefully hide his pectoral cross.
Garcia-Siller’s demented rant last week is evidence of the moral corruption of the present spate of American Catholic bishops. So profound, so disconnected from reality is the archbishop’s hatred of Trump (no doubt for pledging to end the illegal immigration crisis from which Garcia-Siller and other bishops have handsomely profited) that he manages to blame the most unashamedly patriotic President-cum-President-elect for a jihadist terrorist attack inspired by ISIS. Perhaps the USCCB should invest in some breathalyzer tests before bishops are allowed access to social media, or perhaps a vow of social media celibacy is in order.
