Poole Town 0-0 Bracknell Town – Match Report
Poole Town were held to a goalless draw against Bracknell Town at The BlackGold Stadium on Saturday.
Manager Steve Tully made two changes to his side from the thrilling 2-2 draw with AFC Totton.
Captain Jamie Whisken and wing-back Dario De Luca returned to the starting eleven.
The match got underway with the away side on top in the early stages.
Poole had the biggest chance of the first 45, Tom Hewlett was played through, but his effort was denied by a top stop from Michael Eacott.
Both sides battled away in the freezing conditions but neither side were able to open the scoring as the half came to a close.
Tully opted to his bench and made a double half-time substitution with Harry Thomas and Charlie Davis entering the field of play.
The second half got underway with Bracknell looking more likely to take the lead.
James Dobson went close for the visitors but was denied by a great stop from Ben Taylor.
Despite the away side dominating the ball, the Dolphins looked dangerous on the counter and had a number of chances on the break.
Substitute Rafa Ramos went closest for Poole in the second half as his shot was narrowly tipped wide by Eacott.
With the game looking like it was nearing closer to a goalless close, Bracknell ramped up the pressure and were moments away from breaking the deadlock.
The Poole defence maintained resolute in their defensive efforts and managed to secure a point as the full-time whistle was blown.
A hard-fought draw from Tully’s side leaves the Dolphins with three consecutive draws as they face Hungerford Town next Saturday.
After the match, assistant manager Luke Burbidge, he said: “I thought the lads worked really hard, it just felt like something was missing today.”
