Queens nightclub shooting: Police release photos of people of interest
JAMAICA, Queens (PIX11) – Police have released photos of four people wanted in connection with a mass shooting that broke out at a Queens nightclub on New Year’s Day.
According to authorities, the four people acted in concert, shooting into a crowd gathered at the Amazura nightclub on 144th Place in Jamaica, around 11:20 p.m.
In total 10 people were injured in the shooting including a 16-year-old boy, a 17-year-old girl, three 18-year-old women, two 19-year-old men, and another three 19-year-old women.
Police say the four shooters then ran down 91st Street towards 143rd Place, where they got into a white sedan and sped off.
Sources tell PIX11 News that the victims were waiting in line to get into a private party meant to honor Taerion Mungo, a 16-year-old who was killed in a Brooklyn shooting in October.
All of the shooting victims were transported to area hospitals and are expected to survive.
